What’s new for Park City 2021-22
There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes recently at Park City, the largest mountain resort in America with almost 30,000 skiable hectares. From new hotels and restaurants, to a brand new international airport. Park City is home to two world renowned resorts – Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain. Deer Valley, one of only three ski-only resorts in the United States, is known worldwide for its upscale accommodations and five-star service. Nearby Park City Mountain is another great choice for skiers as well as snowboarders to enjoy a day on the slopes.
The resorts have been going above and beyond to manage social distancing and safety measures through:
- Expanded outdoor dining
- Limited lift tickets per day
- Park City Mountain instituting a lift ticket reservation system
- Reservations needed for on-mountain dining at both resorts
- Resorts ensuring chairlifts have adequate spacing between separate parties
Opening of 3 new Hotels
Goldener Hirsch Residences
This winter sees the opening of the stunning Goldener Hirsch Residences. This ultra modern property represents all things luxury, and is located in Silver Lake Village of Deer Valley. There’s a sky bridge that connects the hotel with the original Goldener Hirsch hotel of Deer Valley, but the new addition is a completely different theme and feel than the Austrian-Alps motif of the original hotel.
This season YotelPAD also premiers in Park City, offering superbly appointed residential condos (PADs). This is a resort pad designed specifically for the way you live and play ‘slope-style’. The innovative design and technology ‘dial up the cool factor while dialling down the cost’.

Opening of 2 new Restaurants
Park City will also welcome 2 more restaurants to their superb culinary mix. The Brick restaurant and bar is coming soon and features a buffalo chicken sandwich, muscles, salads, soups and more – with a funky, modern and fun vibe. Located on Main St where Tupelo used to be, this is affordable food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Afterword by Tupelo Park City is located in the town of Heber. The story behind food can make a meal truly memorable – that’s the philosophy behind chef Matt Harris’ tupelo Park City: a ‘globally inspired fine dining restaurant that honours artisanal ingredients and food terroir’.
Alpenglobe Bubble Dining Concept
In case 3 new hotels and 2 new restaurants for next season isn’t enough … Park City is also jumping on this cool new concept of bubble dining. Over the US summer, dining outside became a true staple with more restaurants creating an abundance of outdoor spaces for diners to enjoy meals. With winter now arrived, some creative concepts have been thought of for restaurant-goers to feel safe and also have a special dining experience.
Restaurants who are so far taking this on include:
- Boneyard Saloon and Wine Dive
- Butchers Chop House
- High West Distillery Nelson Cottage
- Montage Deer Valley
- Stein Eriksen
The new Salt Lake City International Airport
The first phase of the SLC airport was completed and opened in September 2020, being the first new hub airport built in the US in the 21st Century. The second phase has now begun and will finish earlier than expected due to lower passenger volume through airport. This will no doubt make Park City ski resorts quicker and easier to access, meaning more time on the slopes!
